Need recommendation for disc brake pad

Hey Will,

I used to have a really horrible squealing problem with some Magura discs. I discovered that the caliper/brake pad weren't perfectly aligned/square to the rotor. How old are the pads? Maybe pop the pads out and rub them with some denatured alcohol (not rubbing alcohol) to remove the glaze. Then I'd suggest double checking the the alignment by loosening the caliper mounting bolds and then running the adjusting knobs all the way in so the caliper clamps on the rotor. Make sure that you line the rotor up properly in the gap in the caliper. The rotor should be offset slightly to the outboard side of the caliper. With the caliper firmly clamped onto the rotor, re-tighten the caliper mounting bolts.

Hopefully that will take care of your problem.

If you decide to go with new pads, I'd suggest you consider Kool-Stops. I can't personally vouch for Kool Stop's disc brake pads, but if their rim brake pads are any indication, then their disc brake pads will be awesome.

Good luck!

I've cleaned the rotors already but to no avail. Any help is appreciated.
