Does anyone feel that it is sometimes hard to shift just one gear at a time going to larger cogs in the rear of recent 105 ten speed systems? I have used 9 and 10 speed 105 shifters on a few bikes in the last 4 years and have always felt this way about the 10 speed. I need to push the lever over to the point where it almost gets 2 gears, and hold it there, to get a single gear shift. Sometimes it clicks and I don't get the gear, or sometimes it clicks as if I have shifted 2 gears but the chain only moves once. I have cleaned and adjusted a lot and to get the quality of shifting I want when going to the larger gear the barrel adjuster is at a point of adjustment where the chain has a hard time dropping down when going to the smaller rings. Most of the time I can shift ok, but it takes more concentration than with 9 speeds I have used. Is this the common level of shift quality for 105 now or should I let the dealer look at it ? It could also be that I have spent so much
time on my single speed that no shifter feels good to me now. Arlo
