Sisters Stampede Memorial Weekend updates

With about a week and a half left until the second annual Sisters Stampede, we are gearing up to maintain momentum with the Oregon XC series after an awesome 20th annual Spring Thaw.

Currently, it is raining hard in Sisters, and rain is in the forecast for the next week. The end result will be nice supple single track for all of your racing pleasures. The Peterson Ridge trail has been in some of the best condition I have ever seen, which should produce fast times for you all.

Our race map is updated, and printable from our website.

Need Child Care? No problem.. Contact Evelyn at: http://www.ajoyfulnoisesisters.com/ (she needs at least 5 kids reserved in order to open her doors).
Race your bike, then bring the kids back for the Play Outdoors Kids race. Kids will be getting a pair of smart wool kids socks for their participation.

If you are a road racer, and planning on doing Bend don't Brake, then get your legs ready for the upcoming stage races in Oregon, and test your skills on a Mountain bike the next day at the Stampede. Your heart will thank you.

Cowboy Bill is set to lead out our Pro, and Cat 1 Men on horseback after the shot from his ivory handled colt .45 (don't worry, he is shooting blanks). All riders except Cat 3 get to do the upper ridge trail twice, then Pro and Cat 1 Men will summit Eagle Rock about 3 miles before the finish. On the course, we will have larger signs this year for the Cat 3 cutoff, the upper lap section, and the Pro/Cat 1 Mens cutoff for Eagle Rock. There will be an aid station with Heed and water as you enter into your second lap of the upper ridge trail.

Our venue tent will be set up at Three Creeks Brewing for the post race festivites, and a free live concert by True Blue, with an intermission for the kids race, awards, then more live music. Three Creeks brewing will be serving up the second annual Ridge Trail ale (an ESB). Each racer will have a token for a refreshment.

Rays Food place will have all of your recovery food available near the finish, and Hammer Nutrition will have all of the Heed you need at the aid station and finish line.

Registration on Saturday May 28th is at Eurosports in Sisters from 2pm-5pm.

Registration on Sunday May 29th (race day) is at Three Creeks Brewing from 7:15am-10:15am

All parking is located on the West side of the Sisters Athletic Club on Desparado Trail dr.. Any overflow traffic will be directed to the downtown area of Sisters. If you want to avoid congestion, then feel free to park anywhere in downtown Sisters, or the Elementary School. Believe me, it is all VERY close to the venue, and start/finish.

Please stay informed for any updated details on the race on our Facebook page (found from our website). We will also be doing a video contest on Facebook in June, which will require your votes for the lucky Sisters High school, or Middle school student who can compose the best video of the race.

Listen to 92.9 FM radio next week for free registration giveaways if you can answer a question about the Sisters Stampede! If you don't live in Central Oregon, then feel free to listen online streaming, and win an entry into the race.
