Ground Shipping Bikes?

Wow!

Well it looks like the verdict is: FedEx or UPS ground (obviously a close
tie between the two), pack the bike yourself, watch the size requirements,
get insurance, and try to have someone with an account ship it out for
cheaper.

Okay, threads like this have been posted many times... So sorry if its a
repeat.

So - I am moving to NYC for the summer and I need to take my bike with me. I
know about all the prices and methods of taking my bike on the plane; but I
was wondering if anyone knows the best way to ground ship a bike for
relatively cheap? I don't want to haul a bike box around through the subway
and I don't need the bike right away.
