Thanks and feedback welcome...Mt Bike Series

1. How was the series this year?

I love MTB racing. I'd go if we raced through Portland city dump.

2. I noticed the numbers dropped off big time later in the season.

Why?

I think the love is gone. When I started racing it was on the road, then

I liked the mtb scene better because people were more relaxed. Now it

seems the competition level is too serious to most people. I know I'm

not the next Roland Green, everybody should know that and try to have a

good time.

Would you prefer the series end in July? Would you prefer two series

one that runs though mid May and another though Sept? And if so would

you show up at the later Summer races( we will be adding a 2nd Aug race

so there will not be such a big gap in racing)?

One series with less gaps and not more than 3 weekends in a row would be

ideal. Its hard to train for races 7 weeks in a row and then have a

month off, then go at it again.

3. What was your favorite cousre and why? ..just the course not the

whole event.

I like newport because its so fast, hopefully somebody picks it up.

Big K and chainbreaker were cool too because they were over 30

miles.(expert)

4. What was your favorite event and why? This means total package,

course, people, other stuff.

You know your races rule!

Thanks Again,

Mike

Hello All

Thanks for another great season.

For some reason my computer will not get the OBRA chat, but I can post on it,

so please e-mail me back at ran-@oregon-adventures.com with any feedback.

Here are a couple of changes for 2003.

1. There will be the following classes is 2003

Beg.   Sport     Expert      Semi Pro(new class)     Pro

2. There will be a new rule that will set in stone the number of races

required for the overall. It will take into account races being canceled.

3. There will be a new set of rules for the downhill side and they will be

enforced!

4. It has always been a rule, but you are NOT allowed to cut up, cover up or

shrink your race plates. Please leave them as they are.

5. More to follow at a later time.

I have a couple of questions for the series racers.

1. How was the series this year?

2. I noticed the numbers dropped off big time later in the season. Why?

Would you prefer the series end in July? Would you prefer two series one

that runs though mid May and another though Sept? And if so would you show

up at the later Summer races( we will be adding a 2nd Aug race so there will

not be such a big gap in racing)?

I ask for two reason one as the person that oversee's the series and two

because up until my personal events Shotgun and Oakridge event number were up

from 2001, but those events were not as well attended as I would have

thought. I was really surprised about Oakridge, when I use to race in the

early 90's and help in the mid 90's there were over 500 people up there. I

was told by lots of people they missed racing up there, but not nearly as

many people as I thought showed up to race up there...even for the state

championships. Any feedback on this is really welcome.

Please answer the following questions if you did more then 5 races.

3. What was your favorite cousre and why? ..just the course not the whole

event.

4. What was your favorite event and why? This means total package, course,

people, other stuff.

Thanks Again

Randy
