Hello OBRA racers,
Before we're heading into the holiday weekend, I want to pass along a couple updates about the upcoming Portland Short Track Series and the 2nd edition of the Six Hours of Mt Hood.
1) Race Info & Dates:
The web flyers of both events have been updated and are posted at:
http://www.portlandracing.com
and
http://www.portlandracing.com/6hrs
Please note that this year's Short Track Series starts on Monday June 6 (just over a week from today!) and runs through August 2. We will skip Monday July 4, so there will be a total of 8 short track races, which will count for 2 sets of OBRA BAR points.
The Six Hours of Mt Hood will take place 3 weeks later than last year, which should further diminish any risks of remaining snow on the course or inclement weather during the event. The format of the event will be very similar to last year, though we've decided to move the start/finish area to the Skibowl main parking (aka Skibowl West, which is right off Hwy 26).
2. Short Track: Series Pass Special & Online Registration
This year, we are offering a Series Pass Special for members of Northwest Trail Alliance. Join NWTA/IMBA and race all eight races for just $90 ($70 for juniors)! The series pass is only available through mail-in registration. Mail-in deadline is Friday, June 3.
More details at http://www.portlandracing.com/registration.html
If you prefer to pay-as-you-race, you can pre-register online for each upcoming race and save $5 from the regular race fee. To register for the first race of the series (Monday June 6), just go to http://www.portlandracing.com/online-registration.html
3. Six Hours of Mt Hood: Pre-Registration
To pre-register for the Six Hours race, just go to http://www.portlandracing.com/6hrs, download and fill out the registration form and mail it back with your check and waiver. We have a field limit of 400 racers, so pre-registering is the best way to tsecure your spot and save $$ while you're at it.
4. Volunteers Wanted!
For the Short Track Series, we are still looking for a couple volunteers to help with set-up, registration, course-marshaling, lap-counting, and clean-up. Volunteering is a ton of fun and if you volunteer 3 or more 30' shifts, you get to race for free. Anyway, if you are interested in helping out, just reply to this email.
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
~Kris
