Mt. Hood Cycling Classic Course Update

Mt. Hood Cycling Classic

2011-05-28

I have gotten a lot of emails from riders wanting to know the status of the 3 Summits Road Race course that were hoping to preride this weekend. As of today Summit #1 is open after finishing plowing out Lake Branch Road. Summit #2 on Vista Ridge still has some snow left to plow. We had two crews up there today working on oppisite sides of the course but did not connect. It will be Tuesday before we can finish Vista Ridge all together. You can certainly bike and hike it though as it is mostly made up of drifts with a lot of bare asphalt in between.

Lake Branch/Lost Lake is down right impressive. If you have a chance you have got to come ride it. In all the years of racing and promoting I have never seen anything like it. I have photos and video now posted on the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/mthoodcyclingclassic . Video really show the magnitude of just how extensive the 3 miles were that had to be plowed out. I guarantee that it will make for one of the most stunning races you will ever do. Now lets think warm thoughts for next weekend!

Sincerely,
Chad

P.S. Remeber to register this weekend for the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic or Tour de Hood to get in!
