Well that kind of messes up both sides right now then (as Rose Festival is in progress).

Here’s what I did this morning, which is by no means a great solution;

Back to Belmont and up the walkway to the bridge,

Up Water to the farthest point I could, up Grand to Oregon and then connected back with Interstate again.

They’ve got that thing pretty messed up if you ask me.

Once issue, as soon as the Rose Festival begins the bike path along the water on the west side is often off limits to bikes.

Okay, so how does this work, the City of Portland closes the north end
of the Eastside Esplanade (where the floating bridges are) without
detouring traffic around the closure?

If the city really wants to promote alternative transportation,
shouldn't they be treating walking and cycling like other forms of valid
transportation?

I mean really, when would the City close a road without providing a
detour around the closure?

If there's anyone on this list that knows of someone responsible for
this, maybe you could forward this e-mail along to them.
