This weekend is full of cycling activity and one of those is State Parks
Day, an event that has been celebrated since 1998 in Oregon. Visitors to
Oregon state park campgrounds will pay nothing to rent full hookup sites
(sewer, electricity and water), electrical hookups (electricity and water)
or tent sites on the evening of June 4. In particular, Stub Stewart State
Park, located off Hwy 47 near Vernonia will unveil their new trails along
with the other outdoor areas offered at the state park. A number of
different organizations have partnered with SSSP to kick off this annual
celebration of the Oregon Parks system, including:

Volunteers/Proponents:
-CycleOne Coaching
-Friends of Stub Stewart State Park and the Banks-Vernonia Rails to
Trails
-Northwest Trails Alliance
-Westside Trail Federation
-Stumptown Disc Golf
-Oregon Equestrian Trails
-Columbia Orienteering Club
-PedalNation
-Washington County Bicycle Safety Council
-Washington County Visitors Association
-REI
-The North Face
-Intel
-Columbia Sportswear
-Boy Scouts of America - eagle scout project participants
-Girl Scouts of America - gold award participants
and many more..

Full rates, however, will be charged for yurts, cabins, horse camps and
group areas.

CycleOne will be camping overnight in the cabin area at Stub Stewart State
Park. The racing team will be training in the mornings, both Saturday and
Sunday... both on the trail and on the roads. In the afternoon, CycleOne
team members will lead public group rides through the new single track
trails at Stub Stewart. The weather forecast for Saturday is fabulous. Feel
free to join us for a great time.

Directions to LL Stub Stewart State Park:
From Portland take Hwy 26 (Sunset Hwy) west. With signs pointing to
Vernonia, take Hwy 47 north. Approximately 3.5 miles, take a right into the
park entrance road. Follow signs to Hilltop Day-use Area.
