OBSERVATION: "Despite the steep climb, Roland Green was still running a 2x9 for the XC race. Alison Dunlap broke out her Santa Cruz Superlight for the XC race. Kona teammates Geoff Kabush and Peter Wedge were both running the new XTR lever shifters in the XC and they were joined for the STXC by Jimena Florit and Ryder Hesjedal. Kabush gets sponsor awareness points for cutting out and pasting individual sponsor names on his new maple leaf jersey he was sporting after winning the Canadian national title. Oregon up & comer, Barry Wicks gets big style points for running the big mop of hair that he somehow fits under his helmet.
