Short Track Series - Some Updates

For those who didn't receive the email I sent out yesterday, here are some important updates ahead of next Monday's Short Track Race # 2 (and the rest of the series):

1) NEW start times for Cat 3 Race and Junior Clinic!
Going forward, the Cat 3 race will start 5 minutes earlier than usual. This change will allow us to make sure that Cat 3 racers get at least 25' of racing in.
The FREE Junior Clinic (which is highly recommended for all junior racers) will start at 4:30pm. Even if you are running late, you can still join in while they're out there (they will run through 5:30pm).

2) IMPORTANT - OBRA membership: proof required.
While you are probably aware that OBRA membership is required for all racers (except kiddie racers), OBRA has asked me to remind everyone that, per the newly adopted OBRA rules, all riders who claim to be OBRA members will have to show proof of current membership at their first short track race of the season. If you cannot provide proof (i.e. membership card, confirmation email), you will have to purchase a single-day license ($5).

3) Hopworks Bike Bar now open for business!
Finally!!! The all-new Hopworks Bike Bar (on N Williams & Shaver) is now open for business! And since HUB is our loyal title sponsor, Short Track racers will enjoy a very special deal throughout the series: flash your 2011 race plate and enjoy a pint of award-winning, local, organic beer for just 2 dollars! (only on Monday nights at the HUB Bike Bar and limited to one pint per racer). Cheers & thank you, generous HUB people!

4) Friendly reminder about race plates & upgrades.
If you raced last Monday, please make sure to bring back your plate at your next race and re-use the colorful pipe-cleaners. If you plan to upgrade or change category, you will have to request a new plate at registration. If you forget or lose your plate, you will have to purchase a new plate ($5) at registration.

That's it. Have a fantastic weekend and I am looking forward to seeing you on Monday!
