It looks like we will have the rare coincidence of good weather and few
other scheduled bike racing events this Saturday. In view of that we are
going to close the velodrome to try to get it painted. I currently have 2
paint sprayers lined up but only 1 person to operate one. Ideally we would
have 3 sprayers, 3 people to operate them and 2-3 people to assist them. If
you can operate a paint sprayer and/or you have one that you would be
willing to loan us for a day please let me know. We could also use help at
the start of the day to mask off the lines and to scrape remaining loose
paint. We plan to start at 09:00 so if you want to help please show up
then. We will need people to help with painting lines later in the day and
probably for several days afterwards. The Alpenrose signs on either ends
will need to be prepped and painted too so if you have an eye for detail
please contact me.

The baseball people will be having a big event on Saturday. You will have
access to get back to the velodrome but they have asked that you come in
through the south entrance and go through Dairyland.

We are planning on painting the Alpenrose velodrome on July 1. We will start at 8 AM but this is an all day job so if you can't be there at 8 AM we will be glad to see you later in the day.



This is a really big job but it goes fairly quickly if we get lots of people. The more the merrier. In addition to supplying rollers and paint we will provide lunch. If you can bring bring a wire brush, a paint scraper and/or a putty knife this will be useful.



It would be best if we could arrange for someone to power wash the track the week before we paint. We are looking for someone to do this. Volunteers would, of course be best but if this is not possible we could arrange for some payment. The power washing will need to be done around the scheduled uses on the track. Please contact me if you are available to do this.
