If you're not doing the Franz Crit or aren't doing the 6 Day- check
out the Boys and Girls Club 2011 Key Bank Cycle Challenge non June
25th. The BGC has some OBRA riders and they volunteer at a lot of
races in the area.
The second annual Key Bank Cycle Challenge, sponsored by New York
Life, is a benefit ride for the Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion and
Polk Counties. The Ride takes place on June 25 at Willamette Mission
State Park. Participants will take to pedal power, as they choose from
three different bicycle routes including a family fun ride and walk, a
half metric century (31 miles) and a metric century (62 miles) for
those seeking a challenge.
The Boys & Girls Club Cycle Challenge will provide first time
cyclists, weekend warriors, corporate professionals, and even the most
seasoned cyclists the opportunity to develop, test and improve their
cycling ability by participating in this event, while having a good
time and contributing to an important local cause. Each participant
has the opportunity to ride individually or be part of a team. The
most exciting part of this event is the youth cycling team, the Flow
Riders, who are currently training 3 days a week to participate and
complete a 62 mile ride.

And on August 6th if you are not going up to the Longview Crit,
definitely check out the ride that Kellie recently listed:
Friends of Jack, a Portland-based non profit formed in 2010, will be
holding its 2nd Annual benefit bike ride in White Salmon, WA ( just
across the bridge from Hood River) on Saturday August 6th. The fun
starts at 9:00 am.
Two of our targeted indivuduals that we're hoping to help this year
are Leia Tyrrell and David Auker.
Friends of Jack's mission is to help a fallen rider recover from an
accident that occurs while cycling by providing a monetary
contribution, and to cushion the landing so that our fellow riders may
focus on their recovery and heal.
Please join us for a beautiful 30 mile ride with over 2000 feet of
climbing, followed by a party and auction. White Salmon is just one
hour away from Portland, and Friends of Jack, along with our sponsors,
will be providing fun live music, some great food, and beer from
Everybody's Brewing!
Check out friendsofjack.org for more details, to register, sponsor a
rider, or to make a donation.
