Re: Roof rack on a Honda Element

You can't.. or at least shouldn't... hose out your Element. Urban legend. It's not completely watertight and apparently there's a bunch of important electronics under the floor. How do I know this? it wasn't me, but a friend of a friend! Really!

A damp cloth works just fine. Or, better yet, the damp cloths in the hands of the industrious people over at Washman-- just $15 gets you a clean Element, inside and out!

I am sure the Element is a very nice vehicle, but the fact it was not as much of a utility vehicle as was advertised (nothing exclusive to Honda) is why we never purchased one. So far I love my Ford Transit. A real utility vehicle. I am sure it lacks many of the plush and cush buttons of the Element, but is sure is just fine with me thus far. Time will tell if the dependability of the Transit is on par with a Honda product, but one year in looks good.
No need to wash the bike before putting it inside if you choose.

I thought the point of the Element was that you could hose it out if it got muddy. BTW, this is the last year of the Element. It's been discontinued.

During cross season get a really huge plastic bag, bag the bike and toss it in the back. BTW take at least one back seats out.
