Hey Guys and Gals
Near Perfect trail conditions and like many people said "Panama Canal has
never been faster" Really, NO BRAKES needed for the most part as to quote
Martin Baker "I have never heard my wheels make that noise"
The course was the best conditions as only a lite mist came down and by the
second lap the course was super fast.
Epic is all I can say and thanks for raising over 1000.00 to the local
Blodgett Summit Grange and the Pastega House in Corvallis, they help
families and have a nice place to stay while loved ones are going through
Cancer Treatment.
*The Race (Rivercity Oregon XC Series Race #9) Test of Endurance 50*
Sean Babcock (Team S & M Young Gun), big time Dominator of the course with a
1:51 and 1:56 lap times (actually it took 6 minutes to get to the finish so
he pretty much road the same speed the whole day (amazing)
In the Womens race Jill Hardiman (Team S & M Les Femmes) took the win in
5:06 which tied her for second fastest ever, only behind Alice Pennigtons
4:48 of 2010.
S and M took both the team honors in dominating style
The amazing race was pulled off by Peyton Logue of Pistis who is 11 and did
1 lap in 3:05 and the overall 1 lap winner Javier Colton of Bend and MBSEF
Cycling Team in 2:43, bright futures indeed
For the most part the best part are those who come in at 6 hrs, 7 hrs who
maybe questioned their sanity prior to this and now have some shattered legs
and some new confidence for that next epic trip or race
Thanks to Yakima for the great Racks and to Specialized for the Sweet frame
and to Chris King, Club Ride and Ergon, Peak Sports, IO Bio, Great Harvest
Bread, Justin and Misty at the aide station and all the Team Dirt people for
assisting me with the event.
Special Thanks to Melanie Rathe and Stephanie Rouse for tabulating 3 sets of
results on the day (Amazing) Great Job
Its a great place to ride and my gps track is on the website, just get a
permit from Starker forest for the Tum Tum unit and be safe.
See you all at Picketts this weekend
