The 2nd Annual Franz Bakery Criterium gets underway tomorrow. The Upper Echelon Women's Team will be hosting a Criterium and Cornering Clinic at 1:15 pm in a parking lot near the intersection of NE 8th and Flanders.
Racing starts at 3:00 p.m.
Are you still on the fence about racing? Here are 5 excellent reasons (there are more, but we know you're busy):
5. Awesome course as demonstrated by the following unsolicited assessments:
"The course is hands-down one of the best and most fun crit courses in Portland! This is no boring 4-corner criterium. With a "figure-eight" layout, it has sweeping fast descending corners, some technical pavement sections, some punchy hills. An excellent "all-rounder" course." - Sorella Forte Blog
"The crit course is fast and the turns are sweet." - Catherine Cooper (Cat 4 woman).
4. Unique points race format with 2 points and $5 per lap cash award, plus for 50+ men, we've agreed to score you separately as part of the Masters 40+.
3. Central Portland location (save $$ on gas and ride your bike there)
2. Saturday forecast: sunny skies and 72 degrees with light wind
1. It's the best-smelling crit in the Pacific Northwest (mmmm...fresh baking bread!!) with more than $3,500 in cash and merchandise prizes
Pre-registration closes tonight at 11:59 p.m.
See you all tomorrow at the race!
