In two weeks time you'll be drag racing on your bicycle. Yes, drag racing,
in front of a huge crowd in the Pearl on NW 13th.
Online registration is now open at OBRA.org, and the flyers for the event
are HERE:

Now, to be clear, for our sprints, this is again how it works.
1. Your 12 bucks will get you a minimum of TWO races. You lose 'em both, you
go to the bar. We will shake out an A and a B bracket from the first
seedings, and whittle down from there. We're "cutting heads" here folks. Top
two go to the A bracket in the first heat, bottom 2 to the B bracket. You
finish 3 or 4 in the B bracket, your night is done. You keeping finishing 1
or 2, you keep racing....
2. The format is STREET SPRINTS - 4 people across. Drag racing. No drafting.
Pure speed. Roughly 250-ish meters from a dead stop, held start. (you're
clipped in, someone is holding you up - there is no assist or push at the
start so pick your first gear wisely)
3. As of now, this is a geared OPEN race. I hate to leave anyone out, but we
literally had one heat each of fixed gears last year. If you show up fixed,
and there's enough of you, we'll adjust, but for now, this is an OPEN
format. Any category can draw any other category. And anything can, and
usually will happen.
4. We have a massive prize list from excellent sponsors like Rapha, Surly,
Orbana, Evil Cycling, Bike Tires Direct, and many more. Lots to win. We plan
on doing random prize offerings to random placings too, so even if you don't
"win" per se, you might still get a rad prize.
We expect big crowds and great weather. Andy Utz is again our Chief Ref,
Luciano Bailey will once again bring his vocal stylings to the race. Come
check out the funkiest bike racing event on the OBRA calendar.
