**Cyclocross season IS FAST APPROACHING, and now is the time to start
serious training. If you are looking for a cycling team to train or race
with in 2011, Team CycleOne provides options you won’t find elsewhere.
CycleOne is a Washington County based developmental team that is looking to
expand our roster. Structured coaching is provided so you will learn from
the ground up. New Castelli uniforms are being ordered at the end of this
week, so you still have time to get in on the action.
Currently, Team CycleOne is a mix of road racers, mt. bikers, and
triathletes. We train outdoors both on the road and in the forest. The road
rides provide a lot of emphasis on climbing, with great terrain for hill
training on the west side. Hill climbing is held on Tuesdays and time trial
practice is held every Thursday. We just finished a 16 week indoor power
training program on the CompuTrainer Multi-rider system. That training will
resume in the fall, after the road racing season winds down. As well, the
mt. bike team is led by Shane Gibson and his penchant for long, hard
endurance rides. In addition to these adventurous forays, we will train
through the winter at Hamby Park and Jackson Woods in Hillsboro, where the
CycleOne CrossWorld team has trained for the past two seasons. A great
skills course…
For 2011, CycleOne Coaching has signed a primary sponsorship agreement with
a new local company located in NW Portland, Bull Run Distilling Company.
Aside from marketing Medoyeff Vodka, they will soon be producing their own
dark liquors. The mix of sponsors includes Discover Chiropractic, Max
Muscle, Hot Lips Pizza, and Cloud Seven Café. The newest addition to the
list of sponsors is L’Ecu, a new custom bike manufacturer in SE Portland.
L’Ecu features incredible carbon racing machines, including cross bikes,
road racers, and TT bikes. Checkout their website: http://www.l-ecu.com/
With lots of camaraderie, we are having a great time this year. Our goal is
to continue in that vein and to create a stronger presence in the OBRA cross
racing scene. These are just a few of the reasons you should consider Team
CycleOne.
