This Friday at Alpenrose Velodrome from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm, 2008 Gold Medalist Jamie Staff will at the big tent for a meet and greet.

Jamie is a 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist in the team sprint and the fast man from the Beijing Olympics. He won the gold medals as a member of the World Record-breaking British team sprint trio. Staff was responsible for the fastest ever first lap in a team sprint.

Staff was hired in 2010 to take over the USA track sprint program and has been working with local riders Kevin Mansker and Dean Tracy and three others to qualify for the 2012 Olympics in London.

The meet and greet will take place starting at 5:00 pm under the big tent at Alpenrose Velodrome.

Racing for the Alpenrose Challenge starts at 6:00 pm and will feature several riders including two-time Olympian Michael Blatchford,multi-time Canadian National Champion and Olympic hopeful Travis Smith, Kevin Mansker and Dean Tracy. All of the racers have their eye on breaking the kilo record set by Per Bjesse in 2009 and previously held by Marty Nothstein.
