OBRA,

Yolanda House, a Portland area women and children's shelter whose parent company is the YWCA, is having their first ever fundraising auction Friday August 5th from 6-9 at the downtown Portland location. Yolanda House opened in 1998 and since then has been serving victims of domestic violence in our community

Bridgetown Velo Racing team members have been doing volunteer work and supporting Yolanda House for the last several years. We have painted, cleaned, pulled weeds and sponsor a bedroom at the shelter that we have completely furnished. Bridgetown Velo even sports the Yolanda House logo on our kit.

The auction is going to have several cycling related items available including two Castelli "Velcissimo package" kits donated by Greg Cowan at Castelli. Three tune-up packages, and swag, donated by Bill Larson at Cyclepath, a Chris King road bike bottom bracket, and other swag, from Rich Whitekettle and Chris Distefano at Chris King and Hammer product donated by Jeff Tedder. Additionally, examples of other auction items include a three night stay in Sunriver, a three night stay at Collins Lake up at Government Camp, a weekend in Black Butte, a Shakespearean Festival package, Stumptown coffee, a wine wall and many many other items.

The local band Flat Stanley will be playing and there will be a no-host bar serving beer and wine.

Tickets can be purchased at www.ywca-pdx.org. If anyone has additional questions please feel free to contact me at rodunderhill@comcast.net.

Further, if there are others interested in donating auction items for this worthy fundraising effort please let me know.

Best Regards
