Hey All!
I wanted to say I greatly appreciate the job Julie does as well as all those
who take the time to promote and volunteer.
One thing I've always loved about mtn biking is the atmosphere at the race
and the attitude of those that race. I'd say 98% of racers don't mind if
the results get posted immediately after a race, or a week after the race.
For most of the racers, it is the experience of riding new single track,
crazy downhills, and competing with others that is most important.
Mountain biking is a fringe sport, like it or not. There isn't a lot of
money on the local level available to hire people. The reason anything gets
done is because of people like Julie. They help out because they WANT to,
not because we wish them to. So, before some people start spouting off
about timely results, think a minute. Be thankful that it gets done at all.
And lastly, if you don't like the way it gets done, DO IT YOURSELF or stop
racing and ride by yourself.

As always for some reason I can only post on this board...I can not read
what
I post or be replied to directly from these e-mails, so e-mail me at

First off Julie does the Mt Bike site for FREE and does a great job at
it.
The site is WAY improved from anything we have had before.
2nd she only post what she gets!!!!!
So If the results are not there she did not get them!
If your name is spelled wrong it is because that is how she got it!
If your in the wrong class it is because that is how she got it!
If your time is wrong it is because that is how she got it!
If she doesn't have an e-flyer or info on a race it is because the
promoter
didn't give her that information...she can't just make up flyer be real,
she
doesn't know how do get to all these events and the details!
and so on!
The point being here is that some of you were WAY out of line in your
e-mails
to her about things she has NO control over.
The Mt Bike series is NOT the road series. We do the best we can. We
do NOT
have Candi with a laptop at all major events inputing results
onsite...in
fact we don't have laptops. Most of are results are done for free by a
friend at work the next day. We are trying to get some laptops for
2003, as
I said if you have a good laptop you want to donate or better yet know a
computer company or shop that would want to be a sponsor please let me
know.
I am not sure we will have Juile or that great site now and that would
be a
major loss and we would take a big step back...every year people say
they
will help, but Julie was the only one to really follow though on the
website
in the 5 years I have been doing this and I really don't think anyone
else
will do a better job and for FREE!!!
So for those of you that thanked her...thank you...for those of you that
ripped on her...check your facts and make sure your yelling at the right
person.
Just so you know I DO NOT HANDLE POINTS EITHER! The OBRA REPS handle
points
and I think they did a great job this year.
Have a Great Cross or off season and I'll see you in the Spring
