Many, many thanks to Pam Reid and her crew of students and staff at Westview
High for a smoothly-organized race! The student volunteers were especially
generous with their time, energy and encouragement all over the course, and
served as great ambassadors for their school.
Thanks also to OBRA officials who worked with equal diligence to make things
happen smoothly, and to Oregon Bike Shop for their support (that repair station
was kept busy much of the morning).
It boggles the mind as to why, when we draw such great numbers at the PIR stxc
series, the crowds were so much smaller at the state championships -- especially
when it was held this year at a location that was accessible by public transit
and therefore should have been easier for more Portland-area folks to get to.
You missed a truly hip little race.
