So.. I'm still confused- where is the parking area?
The link on the website points us to the Alpine Tavern (NOT that I'm against that, lol)... while I might excel at a race held inside a tavern, I'll assume we're not racing there- should PDX'ers take Hwy 34 thru Philomath to Alsea Falls or 99W to Alpine and then to ...- I dunno- somewhere around Alsea Falls?
Sorry to be thick about this, but I hate to drive 2.5 hours to some vague location in a forest and hope I spot some other cars w/ OBRA stickers...
While we're at it- is there a reasonable place to tie up a coupla doggies for the duration of the race? :-)
Thank you,
Russ Rainforth

Alright dirt lovers, one of the last chances to ride your mountain bike in
a race longer than 30 minutes this summer (this person is not thinking 24 hrs
Rip) . A good turnout helps Ripley maintain a good relationship with land
manager in the area and show we are positive recreational users. Can
always open doors for more single track.
Looks like I am going to try to bookend the XC season.....Echo, then many
no shows and finally AF Switchback. If a “old specimen” from the shallow
end of the gene pool, over medicated by the medical profession and just
generally slower every day can give it a go....I sure hope to see many other
familiar and new faces out there as well. always great to hear the grunts
on the climbs and whoops on the descents, not to mention the “ahs” for those who
enter the falls.

You must pick up your plate from the Alsea falls Picnic area and do
this after you are parked and ride down as parking is limited at the picnic
area/swimming area
Please remember to wear your helmet also anytime after
you arrive at the venue
You will be given a plate and the number of laps
you are doing will be written on the plate.
The Start of the race is on
14-6-35 (road) and this is a Starter Point to Point (not loop) and will cross
the finish line/lap point a mile after the start where your laps
begin.
You are responsible for knowing how many times you have climbed up
the biggest climb, so this should be easy as doing 1 more lap is not usually the
best option
Finish of the race is before the aide station on the
left side of the road/cones and sign saying Finish or lap which will be just up
the road with Hammer Nutrition (Heed) and water
You can and do have time in
the am if you arrive early to ride out and place a bottle for yourself on the
course next to the aide station. Its a 2.25 mile ride from the Picnic
area
