"Cat and Mouse" Racing...The Road Race Season isn't quite over.

Greetings OBRA....

I know with this cloudy cooler weather it has reinforced every one's craving
for the muddy run-ups and all that is Cross...and it will come soon enough!

In the meantime, if you're not quite ready to hang up the skinny tires and
still feel the need to race your road bike... the month of September will
provide you with 4 more opportunities to get out and race in a fun friendly
format at PIR.

The Cat and Mouse style racing with take place all four Tuesday's in
September, beginning on September 6th at PIR.

This format allows for the integration of Categories and lends for a fun
dynamic that gives the less experienced categories a subtle handicap, rather
a head start, as the more experienced categories chase them down.

The race flier promotes the option of multiple races to allow for the
separation of the 4/5's and the Woman, however this is determined on field
size and if history repeats itself it's likely that all Categories, both men
and women, will be combined and will race together. If the 4/5 and Women's
field are robust we will run separate races, however, the likely scenario is
that the Cat 4/5 women and 4/5 men will be combined and sent off first,
followed by the Cat 3 men and Cat 1-2 women, then the Cat 1-2 Men. Again,
this is all based on the discretion of the Chief Referee.

We will once again have a great list of daily prizes paying out fairly to
our top overall finishers, as well as the highest paced woman and novice
riders if fields are combined. This of course will be further clarified once
fields are organized and once racing begins. We will also have overall
series prizes and the end of the month.

These prizes will be a combination of great gear provided by our generous
sponsors as well as modest cash payouts to the overalls.

As we attempt to grow this race and this event over the next few years we
greatly appreciate every one's interest and attendance. It truly is a fun
format once all the groups of racers come together and it's an opportunity
for everyone under the OBRA umbrella to rub shoulders one last time on the
pavement before seeking out the muddy fun in the Fall.

We look forward to seeing everyone out there!

Cheers,

Bridgetown Velo.
