Let me lead off by the legal disclaimer: as an organization we cannot
support candidates as we are a 501(c)3 organization.

That said- I am super stoked. I am personally making a donation to
Rod's campaign. (Rod- sorry about the lateness of the check) :P

In the legal community Rod is extremely well respected. He is known
for his fairness and professionalism. Not only do other District
Attorneys respect him- so does the defense bar. That speaks volumes.

If you wish to contribute to Rod's campaign you can access the website
via the above link. As of now he is accepting paper checks for
contributions, which can be mailed in. Soon, you will be able to
contribute electronically through his website. I'm also a friend and
supporter with Rod and have had the unique opportunity to work with
Rod as well as ride bikes with him. He's a great guy, great lawyer,
great father, and a darn good cyclist to boot. Rod not only likes to
race his bike but he is also an avid bike commuter as well, nothing
like having the new DA commuting to the courthouse!

So please contribute and don't forget to vote.

Tonight, OBRA's 50+ racer Rod Underhill announced his candidacy to replace
his retiring boss Michael Schrunk as Multnomah County District Attorney.
After 30 years as DA, Schrunk endorses Rod as his replacement.

The District Attorney is an elected official who is the top law enforcement
official in the County. The Multnomah County District Attorney sets law
enforcement policy and directs approximately 80 prosecuting attorneys and
provides prosecutorial counsel to the City Police Department and the County
Sheriff's Department.

If you're sick and tired of road rage-crazed motorists harassing cyclists,
please join me in doing what you can to support OBRA/Bridgetown Velo rider
Rod Underhill for Multnomah County DA. In addition to his career as an
deputy district attorney and his passion for bike racing, Rod is a husband
and dad who understands how important it is to protect us on the roads and
to stick up for cyclist's rights. You can bet that if the District Attorney
directs his deputy district attorneys and the police and sheriff's
departments to take a hard line arresting and prosecuting motorists who
harass cyclists, the situation out there will improve quickly.

Individuals in Oregon get a $50 tax credit (not a deduction but a 100%
credit) and joint filers get a $100 tax credit for a single political
contribution. So you can contribute $50 (or $100 jointly with your spouse)
to Rod's campaign and fully recover your contribution with a $50 (or $100)
credit against your next state income tax payment!
