Yes, I have known Rod since High School, way way back in our running days, I have never seen him in action in a court room but we have remained friends all these years and I can for sure vouch for him being a stand up guy, he has great support from his wonderful wife and family as well....We could never go wrong with Rod as the DA in Mult. Co.....Have a great weekend everyone.....

I had the unique opportunity to sit on a jury early on in Rod's career. Long before he became an OBRA member. He is a remarkable attorney. I strongly support his campaign. I made a contribution ten days ago. Please consider the endorsements from Joe, Mark and myself and follow our actions with your support and votes for Rod.

To say I strongly agree with Joe's email is such an understatement that the short comings of email can not overcome.

Even if Rod was not a cyclist, he is a great attorney, ethical, caring, fair, heck beyond fair.
He is a husband and father and has raised children as his own who were not his biologically because it was the right thing to do.

And he IS a cyclist, and a motorist, and a pedestrian, and all those things, and brings all of those experiences to the table.

The outgoing DA is supporting Rod. many many other people are as well.

The outgoing DA was the DA for 30 years. This is a very unique opportunity for all of us to support the kind of person who supports the issues we care about, not only as cyclists but as members of a larger community.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Real Solution For Road Rage

Tonight, OBRA’s 50+ racer Rod Underhill announced his candidacy to replace his retiring boss Michael Schrunk as Multnomah County District Attorney. After 30 years as DA, Schrunk endorses Rod as his replacement.

The District Attorney is an elected official who is the top law enforcement official in the County. The Multnomah County District Attorney sets law enforcement policy and directs approximately 80 prosecuting attorneys and provides prosecutorial counsel to the City Police Department and the County Sheriff’s Department.

If you’re sick and tired of road rage-crazed motorists harassing cyclists, please join me in doing what you can to support OBRA/Bridgetown Velo rider Rod Underhill for Multnomah County DA. In addition to his career as an deputy district attorney and his passion for bike racing, Rod is a husband and dad who understands how important it is to protect us on the roads and to stick up for cyclist’s rights. You can bet that if the District Attorney directs his deputy district attorneys and the police and sheriff’s departments to take a hard line arresting and prosecuting motorists who harass cyclists, the situation out there will improve quickly.
