The epic FAT 55 is almost here! The forecast is calling for 84 degrees and sunny on Saturday- a fine day to be out doing an epic ride indeed.

A couple updates. Life Cycles bike shop is throwing down $100 to the first rider to ride up the road and down the trail to their Life Cycles Aid Station at the top of Heckletooth. This will require not only legs of steel (or carbon fiber) but also the skills of a ninja as the top bit of trail is gnarly indeed.

If speed isn't your strong point, Life Cycles is also giving away a completely custom hand laced AirOn wheelset. I can't disclose who will take these home just yet, but I can tell you it won't be based on being the fastest man or woman out there on the course, and it will require finishing the whole thing.

This is possibly the only year the Forest Service is going to allow us to use the "upper Heckletooth" trail accessed from rd 327. It is certainly one of the most challenging and beautiful courses around.
