Subject: Help needed for Christmas at Alpenrose
Hello Everyone,
For those of you who haven't heard yet, Alpenrose is thrilled to announce
that we will be bringing back Christmas in Dairyville this December after
a six year break! I'm sure many of you have been in years past but for
those who haven't, we transform Dairyville into a winter wonderland
complete with Santa Clause, animals, a bakery, gift shop, concession stand
and so much more. It was a tradition at Alpenrose for decades but when
the volunteer group who helped us run the event decided they were ready to
"retire" we were left with a huge project that felt overwhelming to take
on by ourselves. This year, we are going to be able to resurrect this
Portland tradition with the extremely generous help of the 4-H program at
Alpenrose. Together with the 4-H group, we have all the logistics covered
but we really need volunteers to pull this off!
>From time to time many of you have said, "If there's ever anything we can
do to give back to Alpenrose just let us know." Well now there is and I'm
writing all you wonderful people to ask for help! Through your various
groups that use the Alpenrose facilities, I'm hoping that we can find the
extra workers needed to make Christmas at Alpenrose a success. We are
going to be holding our first volunteer meeting this Tuesday in the Ice
Cream Parlor and I would greatly appreciate it if you could send an email
out to the contacts in your associations requesting support. You will
find a link below for a Craigslist advertisement we placed which you can
include in your email. Even if people can't attend on Tuesday they can
still volunteer, just direct them to me at tracey@alpenrose.com. We are
mainly looking for people aged high school and above. Since the volunteer
organization will be done through 4-H, it is possible to get hours for
volunteer service through this project...some businesses will even pay
employees to volunteer for a non-profit!!
It is important to note that, like all other events held at Alpenrose, the
proceeds will not be going to us but instead will be given to charities.
