I am a member of the Medicine of Cycling Group and went to the annual conference in August. They had a great workshop on concussions in cyclists and as part of that a pro rider who had suffered multiple concussions spoke to us about the need to identify and recognize minor concussions after a fall. Had his been recognized perhaps he would have not raced so soon after his first minor head injury and crashed again resulting in a much more severe head injury which ended his pro cycling career.
Here is a set of guidelines for coaches and team managers in dealing with head injuries. Please take any symptoms of head injury after a fall seriously and don't risk putting yourself or others at risk by going out and racing too soon afterwards.
