Blind Date: Thanks!

Yep- I agree wholeheartedly!
Although mine is a cheap knockoff from Harbour Freight (less than 1/2 the cost of the better quality Peet), I'll never go back to stuffing newspaper again.

Seconding this, wholeheartedly. Got a four spot Peet boot dryer last
year and it's a godsend, you can go from dripping wet shoes to warm
and dry in probably 6-8 hours. It's kind of amazing how well it works
and it is almost completely silent.

Here it is on Amazon:

Get the glove attachments for two of the spots. For winter riding, you
can just drop your shoes and gloves onto it at the end of the ride and
everything will be ready to go the next day for another rainy ride.

Has nobody heard of a Peet shoe dryer?

Sorry if someone has already mentioned this. J

I'm with Ron. Pull out insoles, put in front of box fan.

The whole newspaper bit is a messy waste of time.

Wad up as much newspaper as you can and stuff your shoes full. They'll
be dry overnight. I learned that trick in my past life, where we'd
occasionally get stuck out in the rain so long you could pour the
water out of your shoes...

The newspaper is the best method. Even better if you change the paper
after the first couple of hours.

It also helps keep the shape of the shoes. Even synthetic uppers seem
to shrink after being soaked.

Yep. Even though Alpenrose was "perfect" for going very fast on
Sunday...last night was WAY FUN. Even though I got taken out by a rider on
the muddy downhill and knocked over one of the lights, then overcooked the
right turn onto pavement heading toward dairy town and plowed into the steel
fence.....sore knuckles... , it was mud sucking, slick fun! My first "major
