Thank You to Norman and the Poplollies for the great race last night and fun course.

I am curios about the guy who crashed and how he is doing. Anyone know him and can pass along an update? YOU can email me off list if you would prefer.

Thanks,
Richard Sweet

The map was too big to send with this text, so the next message has the map.

Our Team Web page is down today-and I do have a Course Map in this

attachment. I also want to clarify some points for folks.

1. Want to ride more than one category? Cost is $15.00 for the first and $5

for the second.

2. Number to use, OBRA issue number, Cross Crusade Number, or an OBRA

temporary number will all be okay.? We may have to make some adjustments if

there are duplicates.

3. Tires to use, this has no uphill muddy sections with sharp muddy turns. It

is mostly gravel, pavement and grass.? Also, there is some fast turns on

pavement so big knobbies would not be as good small knobs.?

4. I have added a little kids race that Mike Rosenburg is in charge of and

that race is right after the women around 12:45 and it will be about a mile

or so. Ribbons will be given.

5. Mountain bikes or cross bikes are allowed, with cross bikes having a

slight edge.

6. It is going to rain, I think it will at least sprinkle, and of all the

cross races this year, this may be the photo op for the face and front of

your jersey splattered with mud.? The course is on solid ground for the most

part and the one muddy area is downhill. The speed and wet will get you

lookn' good for the picture. Spikes would be of minimal help with no steep

runups.

7. Food, there will be minestrone soup with sour dough bread for 3 bucks.? A

covered place to watch most of the race.

If you want details of the map, print it out and follow along. From start

finish it goes along an asphalt parking lot, drops down a grassy bank, onto a

gravel road, then swings up a grassy runup with a barrier thrown in for fun,

then through the trees on a gravel road, down a short drop to the parking lot

again, then a runup to the road back to the gravel road.? The gravel road

turns into a road without gravel, then through some grass, around a sand pit,

back to another gravel road, up some stairs, back to the grass.? It then goes

back and forth through a gravel parking lot and grassy median strips, over a

grassy (rideable) knoll, up some more stairs a sharp left and then a sharp

right to end the lap.
