Het Meer- Amazing course

Can't say enough good things about it. I even had the opportunity to
face plant in the sand right in front of one of the promoters (who
fortunately was able to ride around me).

The beach was a great addition and the long straight flats were awesome.

Great job Dave and David!

loved it. big mistake using a single speed in a geared class. those long straightaways left me needing some more gears. had one team mate that likes technical over roadie stuff not do so well. and another team mate who prefers the roadie stuff over the technical have his best finish ever. i stayed mid-pack as usual. and Mr. Strasser's right. no place to recover. i think my HRM had to re-calculate my max HR. hope this one sticks around.

David / All,
I agree. This was impressive! Even though I love the technical stuff, this course offered enough, roots, different surfaces, short ups & downs and “the sand” to keep this old guy engaged the whole time. Course designers.....you did good! I am sure the fast road racers who do Cross just loved it as well. If one pushed it.....there was no place to recover....always go, go, go. Was this weather unbelievable today? It was 70 in my backyard this afternoon! As much as I loved the today’s temp. this course truly would be sweet in either a totally rainy period of time and or super frosty / frozen! We Crossers in the Metro area have another Classic venue.
Thanks to zone5productions and crew, sponsors, volunteers and of course obra! Also a shout out to Jay Rathe for giving me someone to chase....never could catch that “quickster”.

A big THANK YOU to the promoters of today’s Het Meer CX race. That was my first time racing on a real beach section and it was a blast. The rest of the course was super fun and it looked like everyone was having a great time. I sincerely hope you can get this venue again for next year as this is sure to be a classic!

With much appreciation,

Dave

Agreed. Very fun!

I had to leave after the second lap of the A race. Did anyone ever manage to ride the entire way up off the beach?

I agree with David. Course was awesome. I loved the "split personality" of
the coures ... 1/2 was flat fast and roadie friendly, the other half was
twists, turns, trees, off camber ... and of course that great beach
section! Fingers crossed that this becomes a staple in our CX scene for
years to come!
