So how are things going in the series? There is some pretty tight racing.
In the High School Series once again the team competition seems to be
between High Cascade of Bend, and Corvallis United. If one of these two
teams slips up the Portland Mud Warriors are right there. I know I said I
was not going to track the individual Men and Women High School results but
I have been anyway. On the Men's side Sam Rosenberg and Colin Dunlap are in
a close race for first. Colin is last year's champion. Sam has a slim two
point lead. Cary Adams and Javier Colton are tied for third. Who will take
advantage in these last two races?
On the Women's side last year's champion Taylor Tyynismaa has a firm grasp
on the lead. Katie Lafevre has a small advantage for second with Anna
Petersen, Kelsey Wilson, and Maddy Cripe all within 7 points of each other
for third.

In the JCS (age category series) there are some tight battles as well.
Men 10-12: Jett Ballantyne has a 20 point margin for first with Donovan
Birky, Keelan Ontiveros and Owen Szwaya in a tight race for second and
third.
Men 13-14: This category has produced some of the most exciting racing in of
the season. Sam Rosenberg has a 4 point lead over Cameron Beard. Lance
Haidet is alone in third, but is down a race from the others. What will
happen when Sam and Cameron have to throw out a race? This is going to be an
exciting and close battle.
Men 15-16: Three Bend Endurance Academy teammates are fighting it out for
this category. Mr. Bunny hop "Javi" Javier Colton has the lead over
teammates Dawson Stallings and Colin Dunlap. Dawson had a mechanical at
CrossAflixion that cost him some points. Colin has skipped two races. Again,
when races are thrown out this will be a very tight competition.
Men 16-17: Cary Adams of Corvallis looks to repeat as the champion in this
category. Don't count out Henry Petersen with his solid second place. Zach
Colton has some margin for third.
On the Women's side: Haley Wilson and Taylor Tyynismaa are the only
undefeated age category racers in the series. 12 year old Haley finished 4th
overall Jr Women in Bend. She was in a three way battle for second up to
the last 500 meters with 15 year old Anna Petersen, and 18 year old Kara
Doescher (behind solo leader 18 year old Taylor Tyynismaa). Nice job Haley!
Women 10-12: Haley Wilson has a solid lead. Isabella Jacobs has a 9 point
margin for second over Annika Sandaine. Don't count out Jelly Pirate's
Sierra Kelly in fourth.
Women 13-14: Kate Ballantyne and Ivy Taylor of Bend Endurance Academy have
a tight race going for first and second. Katie Lafevre is down two races
already in the series and may have to settle for third even she has had some
success against Kate and Ivy.
Women 15-16: Anna Petersen has a firm grip on first with Corvallis United
teammates Kelsey Wilson and Maddy Cripe tied for second.
Women 17-18: Taylor Tyynismaa is on her way to repeat as this category age
winner. Kara Doescher has a lock on second place. Sarah Raulston looks solid
for third place.
