Cross Crusade Race #7

Barton Park

Thanks to all who made the trek to Bend for the Halloween weekend. Hope you
had as much fun as we did. The event was a huge success and we will
definetely be going back next year. This weekend we are at Barton Park.
For all of you who have been lamenting the lack of mud at the 2011 Crusade,
I think you'll get your fill. Check out the most recent episode of Oregon
Field Guide to see what Barton was like last fall.

A couple quick notes:

First, parking at Barton is a bit tight. We will have parking attendants
and we ask that you follow their instructions so that we can get everybody
in. We will save space along the course for team tents.

Second, the Community Cycling Center is starting it's holiday bike drive and
will be accepting bike donations next week at PIR. If you have an old bike
laying around that isn't getting used, donating it would be a great thing to
do. These bikes get refurbished and donated to kids and young adults that
aren't able to afford one.

Also, remember that all juniors will race together at 12:20pm at Barton.

We are still nailing down all the details of the Crusade Awards Party. It
will be Saturday, Nov. 19. Details shortly.

Barton will be my last Crusade Race for this year, next week I will be in
Louisville, KY with Ryan Trebon, Jeremy Powers, Tim Johnson, and members of
the UCI designing the course for the World CX Championships.

Next weeks race will take place on the infield course at PIR which has been
used for the USGP for the past five years. This year, the Crusade is using
three former US Natz courses. '03 PIR Heron Lakes, '04 PIR Infield, and
'09/'10 Bend.

For the season finale of the 2011 Cross Crusade at PIR, we have invited the
Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers to come and make some serious noise.
