I have a bucket full of 105 9spd and Easton parts. I pulled them from my
lite-mileage 2004 Kona Jake the Snake that died a gruesome
death
at
Rainier HS last month. The frame died, not the parts. The parts are fine.
Except the rear derailleur needs a new inside cage plate and one of the SPD
pedals (there are FOUR for some reason) needs an overhaul. Only one of
these things (bent cage) is related to the drive side stays breaking clean
through like pixie stix which is a thing that actually happened.
I used this bike for one year of commuting and then I gave it to my
mother-in-law who used it mainly for riding on paths I think. So maybe 2000
