Training music suggestions

If you're into techno, and don't mind some German electro style, get
yourself Tour De France Soundtrack by Kraftwerk. I record a lot of stuff
off of BBC Radio 1 as well, on Saturday nights (their time) they have some
great shows - Annie Nightingale has a good eclectic techno show, and Fabio
and Grooverider do a drum and bass show (my favorite right now).

If you're looking for heavy metal though, get thee to an Austrian Death
Machine album. Or Early Man.

Willamette University Cycling is proudly sponsored by Markus Schulz and Cold Harbour Recordings, one of the top trance DJ's and record labels in the world. A great place to start looking for your thundering euro beats required for said trainer interval sessions.

There are copious amounts of podcasts, some are more of a compact preview of trance/electronic music, others are 1-3hr sets. Some good artists to start with are:
Markus Schulz
Gareth Emery
Menno De Jong
Above and Boyond (A State of Trance)
Paul Oakenfold
Paul Van Dyke
DJ Tiesto
Oceanlab

Those are some of the top DJ's, but that isn't even scratching the surface. They all have podcasts, I'd suggest you start there. If and when you find a particular track you can't live without, each of those DJ's will have tracklists, then you can start compiling your own playlists. I don't do much indoor riding, but I do row on an erg, and use the same
tracks for cross warm-ups as well. My playlist for this leans heavily on ZZ
Top, Oingo Boingo, and Chemical Brothers.

So I'm reaching out to the early middle age croud. I need music
suggestions, looking for mid 90's DJ music, house, techno or trance style.
I was more of a Dead head, but I love all music, it's just hard to spin hard
while listening to St. Stephen.
Old school Metallica is great to spin to, and punk rock is great with there
short songs for short intervals.
I used to listen to club music, mainly house style, but I don't know any DJ
names. Please send me any suggestions.
Feel free to respond privately or in the chat room. Maybe I can start a
forum about something other than picking on a crappy driver or a cyclist
that ran a red light.
Oh yea, if your trying to figure out the BPM of a song, here is a very cool
program that I use to get the BPM. Then I use song leangth and creat my own
play lists for the type of training I want to do for the day. It really
breaks up the boredom of just staring ot the stop watch.
