AdventureSports Radio to Cover ?Cross Nationals Live
Webcast Offers Wire-to-Wire Audio Broadcast Sunday
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (Dec. 12, 2002) ? AdventureSports Radio will
broadcast live play-by-play action from the Shimano-USCF Cyclocross
National Championships at Domaine Chandon. Complete wire-to-wire
coverage of the Elite Men and Women?s racing will begin at 1p.m. PST (4
p.m. EST) on Sunday, Dec. 15.
?Live webcast radio is an exciting innovation for our sport,? said Rick
Sutton, president of GaleForce Sports Marketing, promoter of the event.
?This is a great way for friends and family members of all the
contenders at the nationals to tune in on the action from anywhere in
the world.?
Listeners will enjoy hearing the heart-pounding competition from not
only the start/finish line but also from two other areas along the
course. In the pre-game show, sponsored by the Domaine Chandon Winery,
you?ll hear from many of the top cyclocross racers in the country.
Marc Gullickson, Todd Wells, Gina Hall, and Carmen d?Aluisio are all
expected to give their comments on the course, the conditions, and the
competition.
The live call will come from the announcers at the event. This
announcing crew of Tom Simpson, Chris Zigmont, and Richard Fries are the
same trio that made the exciting call at the Presidio in 1999. Join the
action at www.adventuresportsradio.com.
?AdventureSports Radio is the sports/talk radio station for the rest of
us,? said Glenn Stilwell, who will produce the event. Stilwell has
considerable experience in radio sports production with the NBA, NCAA,
NFL, and Major League Baseball. Stilwell?s interest in cycling led to
the development of AdventureSports Radio. Through the technology of the
Internet, events like the 2002 San Francisco Grand Prix and the
Interbike Trade Show can be brought to listeners. ?Wheels of Steel?, its
signature talk show, can be heard every Monday at 10 a.m. PST. (12 p.m.
EST) Listeners should use the Winamp or RealPlayer media players.
The Shimano-USCF Cyclocross Nationals is expected to draw 16,000 cycling
fans to Domaine Chandon for this two-day event. Cyclocross, the
steeplechase of cycling, is considered the most crowd-friendly event in
bike racing. The best mountain bike racers and road racers come together
for this unique event held on turf, dirt, and pavement. The U.S. Cycling
Federation will crown national champions in 21 different categories. The
Pro/Elite races are set for Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
