58 cm 2011 Fuji Altamira CX 1.0 Dura Ace bike

David,
No problem here with your message on the subject. People too often keep
up being redundant beyond reason. I think you were polite and offered
constructive comment.

That said it is situations exactly like this that prompted me to long
ago set up an email filter. Now, as long as the subject contains "for
sale" or "FS" all this annoyance goes to a separate folder I can easily
ignore if I am not in the shopping mood.

Therefore my gripe is only with the inconsiderate list members who don't
properly subject their postings. And of course this poster is in that
category...

Hi Scott,

It's me again. I do want to clarify my earlier statement as I did not intend
to say you cannot post FS emails to the list. I understand that my statement
could be construed that way, and for that I apologize.

My reason for the posting was only because I recognize you have posted the
bike on several occasions in recent memory and it does not appear that the
bike was sold in that time. Thus, my suggestions for alternative solutions
that might help you move the bike in a manner that would enable you to
recoup some of the money you have invested in the bike.

I fully support yours, and every other OBRA members rights to buy, sell,
trade, post videos, OT related items, and such to the list. It is one of the
great things about our community. If you feel that you can sell the bike
here and that continued postings will help you sell it, then by all means
continue. Again, I was not saying you could not post to OBRA, rather that
there might be alternatives that you should consider if you are not having
any luck here.

I'm sorry if my last line came across as snarky and I should have responded
directly to you as opposed to "reply all". I do hope you sell the bike and
whoever buys it ends up being very happy with it.

Sincerely,
Dave

Hi Scott,

I notice the last line of your post says to contact if "you are serious". As
such, this is a serious response.

You have posted this bike at least 7 times over the last 2 or 3 months here
on the OBRA chat. The beauty of the OBRA list is that anyone who is an OBRA
member can post anything they like (within reason of course) and if need be,
on multiple occasions. Still, the fact that I see you posting this bike
again, leads me to ask the question about alternative options for selling
the bike.

Maybe it is a case of waiting until we are closer to CX season and people
looking for a CX bike will be more inclined to get a nice deal on a bike
(like the one you are offering). There are a few shops in town that will
sell your bike for you at a small commission % (Sellwood comes to mind), and
then of course there is EBay and Craigslist.

Unless someone has already responded to your offer, it would appear that you
are going to have a difficult time selling the bike at this moment. I would
hope that you take up one of my suggestions mentioned above and spare the
list another 6 emails regarding the exact same item.

Good luck selling the bike.
Sincerely,
Dave
