Fenders for 650cc wheels

I just installed a regular 700c set of fenders and bent them down using the
fender stays. I suspect that they would not be a durable in this stressed
position but since they are on Candi's bike and she rarely rides in the rain
they have not really been tested.

Hey Tom,

I ride 650c as well. I investigated this issue when I got my Sweetpea and
the short answer is that there's really nothing available for 650c.
Plenty for 650b, but those are all too wide for 650c.

Unless you want something the raceblades (Poor temporary solution, imho.
I tried it.) you'll need to get something customized for you. Dennis Funk
at the Bike Cellar made me a fabulous set of fenders by modifying a set of
700c Planet Bike Fenders. Modifications included cutting the rear fender
and making a bracket to accommodate the rear brake assembly.
He also made fender flap extenders that reach almost to the ground.
They go on and off with a couple of nuts and bolts. I usually take them off
only when packing the bike for travel, but they don't take long to
install/uninstall, should one not want them on year round.

I'm really happy with them.

Susan

My girlfriend has a Trek 1.2 43cm with 650cc wheels she wants to commute
with. Anyone have good solutions for fenders? Given the rain we have, I
would prefer full fenders over some clip on the back type. I have not been
too successful finding any online.

Thanks!!
