The Alpenrose Six Day starts this evening. The final tally on the prize
list is $13,400. Tonight there will be a Madison Pursuit to seed teams into
groups and then a Madison for each group. Even if you have not arranged a
partner you should come to the track as there will be others looking for
partners. If you are not racing come out to watch.

The Alpenrose Six Day is coming up June 20-25. The flyer is at
http://www.obra.org/track/flyers/2011/six_day.html. There will be racing
every day. The Six Day competitors will have individual and Madison races
every day with scoring for the whole week. This is the track racing version
of stage racing. There will be racing for those not competing the whole
week on Thursday and Saturday. There will be prizes for the individual days
and for the overall with the total prize list well over $4,000.

Finding a partner for the Six can be a bit like finding a date for the prom.
If you think you might be interested but you don't have a partner let me
know and I will try to be a matchmaker.

It is hard to believe that the Alpenrose Six Day is coming up soon since we
have had so little track racing and it doesn't even feel like summer yet but
... it starts 2 weeks from today, June 28 through July 3.

The Alpenrose Six Day is starting next Monday. I need to get some idea
about who will be riding. Please contact me if you think you might be
interested.

The Six Day starts next Monday at Alpenrose. There will be Madison racing

each day for riders competing all six days. This is stage racing for track

riders. If you have not yet arranged a partner make sure you still show up

on Monday since there will likely be other people like you and we can match

you up.



The new addition this year is sprint oriented races every night. These

races will be omnium scored over the entire six days. You will not need to

be there all six sessions to compete in the sprints and other short races.



On Thursday there will be races for Cat 1/2/3 riders. Friday will have

races for Cat 4/5. Saturday there will be racing for all categories.

The Six Day starts Monday. It is certainly not too late to arrange a

partner. There are several people looking. If you are thinking about it

please contact me and I will try to set you up with someone. Even if you

have not arranged a partner but you still want to do it make sure you show

up on Monday as we may be able to match you with a partner then. I have 8

teams on the "highly probable" list so it appears likely that there will be

2 fields.



For Six riders there are daily prizes plus overall prizes. There is also a

cash prize for each finishing team, $100/team minus $10 for each lap down on

the leaders.



For those not competing the entire Six there will be racing for all

categories on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Thursday will be similar to

the regular Thursday program. Friday will be Match Sprints for all

categories. Saturday will be similar to regular Thursday races but slightly

longer races.

- If you are interested in riding the race and do not have a partner make

Single day riders $7.00/day

Racing starts 6:30 PM Monday through Friday, 12:00 noon on Saturday

SIX DAY RULES

-MAXIMUM 9 TEAMS PER MADISON FIELD

-MADISON PURSUIT DAY1 WILL SEED TEAMS TO A OR B FIELDS IF NEEDED

-OVERALL WINNER DETERMINED BY CUMULATIVE LAPS AND POINTS FOR ALL RACING.

-POINTS AND LAPS WON OR LOST BY RIDERS IN INDIVIDUAL EVENTS WILL BE ADDED TO

TEAM TOTAL.

-DAILY PRIZE DETERMINED BY TOTAL TEAM POINTS AND LAPS FOR THAT DAY.

-DAILY PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE NEXT DAY'S RACING.

-TEAM RIDERS MUST WEAR SIMILAR JERSEYS.
