Alpenrose Velodrome update

So the velodrome is coming close to being finished with stage 1, but currently the track is still closed. I (Bridge City Pressure Washing) was contracted by the track commitee at the beginning of January to completely clean the track, bleachers, basically all of the concrete out there.
I have been out there quite a few days now. The bleachers are moss free, the warm up track looks like new concrete, and the track it self is almost completely striped of many years of paint. At least striped enough that a fresh coat of paint should adhear a lot better now. I'm also blasting out any cracks and flakey patches.
This has taken way more time than estimated for due to all of the layers of paint. I assure you that I'm not making a profit out there but pretty much breaking even. However, I've heard that some of you are sad that there won't be any paint to scrape and sweep up this year...ha ha. I know scraping paint is so much fun. But if you want, feel free to kick me down a tip (donation) through my web site, which of course will go right back to OBRA with my race fees coming up this spring for all of the TT races I'll be in.
The track will be closed for some time, untill some warmer weather will allow Mike to get a few volunteers to do some concrete patching. Right now there are some pretty nasty cracks and holes out there...I don't think that duct tape will cover them up. ha ha.
So sorry if anyone wants to do some cold weather riding out there but the track will be nicer than it has been in years when it is finished.
Mike will be the one to give the official word on when the track is open, I'm just giving an update. Feel free to stop by if you want to see what the track looks like with barely any paint on it. Just no eating my paint chips!!!!

Thanks,
