True, the availability of certain sizes of the ZTR355 extrusion have
been diminishing. I believe the tool is near EOL (end of life) and they
have decided to invest in different extrusion tooling (unfortunately
disc brake focused). The sizes that remain in the catalog for the ZTR355
are the ones that sell best.

That said my experience with Stan's has been if your really want
something specific of theirs call them. Stuff is often tucked away or
"turns up" in a warehouse. Case in point is their 650B version of the
same rim. They dropped it from the catalog completely last year. Not
only was I able to get another set after that but I managed to drum up
some interest on another list. Lo and behold the size is back on the
website as a Limited Supply item.

I recommended the Velocity A23's to him. Fairly wide footprint and with 32
holes, they're pretty stout. Also, with Stans standard rim strip, they
setup tubeless pretty well.

I also use Deep V's for training with stan's cx conversion kit which works
well and is pretty bombproof. But for an all around wheelset, I'd rather
use the A23's...

I was under the impression the 355's were NOT available any longer. I weigh
130 and have a set if wheels with 355's but am very happy with the 340's as
well.....very light. My cross clincher wheelset with the 340's weighs 1360
grams. I also think they are very tough (no problems after some serious
abuse), but the 355's are wider and that is nice. Delgados are somewhat
heavier, but those are tough rims.

+3 for the Stan's

I've been riding Stan's rims (ZTR Arch) for 6 hard abuse filled years on my
MTB - they simply keep on ticking and never seem to require much
truing/maintenance. Bomber setup...

I recently built a CX wheel set based on the Stan's ZTR355 29er rim
because I wanted tubeless and a wider rim to work better with wide
tires. It's been working great and I'm very pleased with the set up.
Unfortunately that rim is probably a little light for you and has a
fairly thin braking surface.

But, just this week I had an opportunity to check out the new Easton
EA90 RT wheel set (for Road Tubeless) and I am very impressed. The RT is
both tubeless and wider (2mm wider than the SL they are based on for
only an added 20g in weight).
Had they been out a little sooner I might not have built a custom set at
all.
