Dave, We have forks in stock

This one is a good replacement of a 80-100mm sussy fork.

'Cross forks are too short.
29er forks too long. You can put a 29" front wheel in a 26" rigid fork
(with discs), but it will still slacken the frame angles by ~2
degrees.

I have a 26" (I assume you are talking about a 26" bike) Carbon Mountain
bike fork with Alum. steerer (1&1/8") and a Cane Creek Headset. It is has
posts for rim brake and also disc tabs. There is 10.5" of steerer tube and
the babe weighs 980 grams with the headset. I ran it for a couple of years
on a cross bike w disc brake (plenty of room for a cross tire). It is about
350+ mm from axle to bottom of crown. It provided room to run 34-35 cross
tires. It is a nice fork (provides a nice ride and is responsive), just a
bit of an anchor compared to the higher end full carbon models. Made for
26" wheels. If you are interested let me know as I am not planning on using
it on any project right now...and once gone....hey, its gone. We can
discuss price, but I am not out to join the 1% through selling bike parts.
I am in Portland.

Exploring the possibilities of having a rigid fork for my mid-grade scott
scale hardtail. What are my options? I don't want to get too crazy on
price or anything.

You could try a cheap cross fork on it. You end up with a 69er! That's a 26" rear with a 29" (700) front. Shouldn't change the geometry much from a suspension designed frame. If you were putting a suspended 29er fork on it, it would really slacken the front end. You might end up with a clearance issue between the tire and the downtube though. I have a couple of disc/canti cross forks you can try it with.

google "building a 69er" for more discussion
