Swapping Hubs on nearly identical wheels?

That is assuming the rims have the same ERD (I have not checked). If
the effective rim dimeters differ you are SOL.

So you could unlace the Open Pro, tape it to the Open Sport wheel and
transfer over the spokes one hole at a time. You will have to rebuild the
Open Sport rim with the hub that was previously on the Open Pro rim. I
would buy a handful of nipples if you are going reuse the same spokes. You
would only need to replace the nipples that have rounded.

Unless you have a third rim, this isn't a quick operation.

The best way to swap would be to tape an empty rim to the wheel and move
one spoke over at a time, so you don't have to re-lace them. I would use
new nipples but provided you don't re-lace, keeping the existing spokes is
even better than getting new ones.

If you have a third rim this wouldn't be too bad. You could move the hubs
around and then have a shop tension them up and true the wheels.

This proves a little detail, but used spokes are said to be more prone to
breakage when used in a different wheel build.

If the hubs are the same, it can be done.

If you want to reuse the spokes and nipples, you are the only one that
can do it at a reasonable cost. Most--if not all--professional
wheelbuilders will want to use new spokes and nipples, at least. Rims
and spokes are consumables.

I have two wheels; both 32/H, both have PT Hubs. One rim is a Mavic Open
Sport, the Open Pro.

Basically I'd like to swap the hubs for a couple of reasons: one hub is
more reliable and the Open Pro rim profile mates better w/a WheelBuilder
cover.

There doesn't seem to be any compelling reason to respoke either wheel, any
suggestions of who might do this for a reasonable cost?

Lemme know off-line.
