Cherry Pie Issues

Folks,

Just wanted to let you all know a few locals in Adair Village have contacted their local law enforcement and school officials with concerns about public urination, trespassing and damage to property caused by Cherry Pie racers in past years. I received positive feedback after last year's event. I assume these complaints are likely hold-overs from previous years and coming from a few folks who have the ear of the police and school officials. However, I appreciate everyone doing what they can to keep the locals happy.

There are restrooms sprinkled around the venue in several locations. You should not be far from a blue room anywhere on school grounds, at the staging area, the parking area or at the finish line. If you are caught by race staff urinating in public, expect to be disqualified from the event. We are again offering free entries as a bounty for reporting this behavior. I know it seems silly, but we need to be proactive about stopping this or we'll certainly lose the venue.

Do not block driveways.
Do not setup your trainers on the sidewalk or in front yards.
Do not trespass on the new football field.

When in doubt, think about how your actions may be viewed by the locals and please be courteous and respectful.

I realize that there are likely only one or two people out of the 500+ riders and spectators who cause any of these issues. I appreciate everyone's efforts to maintain positive relations with the locals at our venue.

Thanks and we'll see you Sunday!

Regards,

Jim Fischer
