Hello OBRA Land,

I couldn't think of anyone better toshare this with than my friends in OBRA. Since many of you are mountain bikersout there I thought I would share with you a mountain bike adventure companyone of my very best friends has started called "Inspired Mountain BikeAdventures". They are offering trips to Switzerland this summer that I canonly say have me drooling, not only because its the most incredible place onearth to ride but because I cant believe all the things they are offering (theChalet is unreal) for the price. My friend Gabe and I worked at a bikeshop in high school together and that started a long friendship of bike racingfrom Jersey to the TransAlp challenge and touring together all over Europe andchasing Le Tour. He is the ultimate travel companion, he gets along witheveryone, has great taste, and has the savy street smarts to always keep youout of trouble while never sacrificing the fun! These trips are going to be ablast.

He has been pulling together the details, the trails, the shuttles, everything for the past decade and it is nothingshort of epic. Not only that but he speaks 4 languages so asking another rider to snap the once in a life time photo is never a concern.

If you are interested check out thedetails below and the link to the website (did I mention the chalet will blowyour mind!)

The idea is to provide an all inclusive mountain bike holiday in the SwissAlps. No one else out there combines real mountain biking with theluxurious comforts of a modern swiss chalet (no hotels, hostels, or B&B's--> everyone is there to mountain bike so the atmosphere is breathing withmountain bike culture). The chalet is perched on the mountain side at5000 feet and has a 270° view of some of Switzerland's most reknownpeaks. Aside from the riding, we will be taking our guests tonumerous cultural spots to share the Swiss culture from a culinary aspect aswell as historical and architectural. The Valais region of Switzerlandnot only has its highest peaks, around twenty above 14,000 ft but also Europe'slongest glacier (23km - that we ride along).

All airlines allowpacked bikes on board. Please contact your airline of choice for details andadditional fees. Contact us about how to pack your bike if you don't have acarry-case.

What type ofmountain bike and equipment should I bring?

We highly recommenda dual suspension bike with at least 5 inches of travel and all-around diskbrakes. To ensure your safety, make sure your bike is in excellent mechanicalorder. It is best to arrive with fresh rubber and newly broken in brake pads aswe'll be doing more riding and descending in one week than most people do in aseason. Make sure to pack away an extra set of brake pads as they are oftenappreciated halfway through the trip. Helmets are required at all times duringriding and other protective gear is optional. All riders should have a smallday pack to carry the supplied snacks and other gear to keep warm and dry inthe case of changing mountain weather. Don't forget a pocket headlamp to getthrough some of the mountain tunnels we'll be exploring. We'll send you acomplete list of recommended gear in the 'Get packed!!!' dossier onceregistered for a trip.
