Come on, you know you've always wanted a classic lugged steel Merckx. Here's your chance. Everything you've read about a Merckx frame is true. Simply put, they're the most stable bikes I've ever ridden. Well made, built for performance by the man who's simply the finest human every to ride a bike. Equally competent in Arenberg, the Muur, the Cipressa, the Stelvio, or the Tourmalet, this bike can do it all, just like Eddy himself. I'm selling this frame only because I'm replacing it with another Merckx.
The seat tube measures out to 53cm C-C (54 C-T), top tube is 54cm. Bottom bracket shell is Italian threaded. Serial # dates it back to the mid-80s. It's never been crashed or in need of repair. No rust, stripped threads or other damage. I've had the alignment checked and it's perfect. My experience riding it bears that out. Includes a 1" threaded Chris King headset.
Paint scheme is for the old Belgian Lotto team. The frame could use a repaint to be as good as new, but it always gets a lot of compliments as is. Lots of pictures at the Photobucket link below.

Given its condition, inclusion of the King headset ($130 value) and the relative rarity of these frames, I'm asking $600 for it. Please send me an email at dkaempff@hotmail.com if you're interested.
Thanks,Dan
