So I am reposting this with my lowest OBRA price...$400 for the set, yes both wheels! They are worth more but $400 is all I need to get my new mtn bike.
Mavic Ksyrium 700c wheelset 2010.
This is a mixed wheelset that I picked up used last fall. The front is a SL and the rear is an Elite. Even though it is a mixed set, it is very hard to tell. The main difference is the spokes. The front SL has aluminum spokes while the Elite has Steel spokes.
I’m a wheel builder and could list every aspect about the wheels but here is the basic info.
Front SL- 18 bladed aluminum radial laced spokes, carbon shell hub, 20mm rim, 650g
Rear Elite- 20 bladed steel spokes, radial drive side, 2- cross non-drive side (Mavic design), 24mm rim, 880g
Total weigh w/o skewers is 1530 according to my scale. I only have the rear mavic skewer.
Mavics are great, solid wheels. I got them for some pressure work that I traded and only used them a few times and realized that there not my style. I prefer cheep heavy wheels for training and light aero wheels for racing. I figure I could use the money to finish building up my climbing wheelset. These Mavic wheels are ideal for training and for crit races because of how solid they are.
New they would cost $880. My OBRA price is $400 for the set. They are in great condition, hardly used by me or the previous owner. They have been trued and dished and are solid, straight as an arrow, smooth breaking surface!!!
