FW: Alpenrose update

They just don’t make paint like they used to Mike. All the Lead and Mercury are gone. Those were the days! When you brushed that stuff on, you knew it would be there longer than you would. Guess why?
The fact those old lines are still on the asphalt might also speak highly of the nice protection of the concrete being removed.
Do you know when the asphalt was put down? The concrete? Maybe at one of the track races a “re-dedication ceremony?

They did find the old asphalt track that was there before the current concrete track. You can still see some lines on it.

Candi I do not know if you want to bombard the OBRA list with Alpenrose info but I told Mike that I would give it an update.

The work at Alpenrose has started on Monday with the excavation and installation of a gravel road on the west side. The purpose of this road is to give the dump truck the ability to get in and out of the track. This road will remain after the project is done and will be an asset for events at the track into the future. On Tuesday the excavators began to remove the track surface and everybody was waiting with anticipation to see what was underneath the slab. As with all remodel projects there were surprises. The goal for the rest of the week is to get the sub grade complete so that it is ready when and if a day of good weather comes around.

Is it CX season yet? I could go for a CX race or two right now. Why couldn't
we have this weather in CX season?

The place looks ready for Blind Date at the Dairy to me! Bunny hop here and
there. Piled concrete = barriers. Get the lights set up Joe and Toni. The
weather is about right for November Cross.
