Blocker Memorial Gentleman/woman's Ride. When: Sunday, April 1st, 2012. 10 AM depart.Start: Clearing Cafe @ 2772 NW Thurman Street, Portland, OR. This is a great place for coffee, food, and juices. Hit it up first for some home baked goodies as well. Kelly makes all her own stuff. Awesome.Download Cue Sheet: HERE.Download GPX File: HERE.MapMyRide Map: HERE. You can also get the gpx/kml for it there. About the course: Lumpy. Definitely reconsider this ride if you don't like climbing. We'll be doing a few select climbs from the upcoming RondePDX as well as using the Rose Garden Race Loop as our finishing circuit. In between those things, we'll go adventuring off into Helvetia and back.About traffic laws: This is a Gentleman's ride and as such we, as Gentlemen and women, must follow traffic laws to the highest standard. Please take a few seconds after stop signs and traffic signals to regroup safely. About safety: Neutralize on wet descents. Single-file when cars are back on narrow winding roads. Stop for crashes and render assistance. It goes without saying as this is an unorganized ride, that you are riding at your own risk. Please be careful. Misc.: There are several sections on the course that can be cut for dropped riders to rejoin the back of the group. This is encouraged. This is an unorganized self-supported ride. This is NOT a RACE. The SPRINT finish is at the Rose Garden parking area just beneath the tennis courts. Casual ride back to Clearing Cafe for lunch. Prizes: There will be both prizes for the overall winner and the KOM winner. They will be dumb yet prestigious.Note: In case of really horrible weather we may cancel. If you'd like to be notified of cancellation email here: danblocker@are-f.com Important: Under no circumstances do you spoil my watching of the Tour of Flanders after this ride by telling me who won. And by me, I mean ANYONE. I want to enjoy it from start to finish, relaxing at home, after this ride...Thanks!
